The short answer
Go to their profile, tap the three dots (…) and choose Block, then confirm. They can’t message you or see your content, and their profile and posts are hidden from you.

Block someone
- 01Go to their profile.
- 02Tap the three dots (…) next to their name.
- 03Choose Block.
- 04Confirm with Block User.
In Messages, you can also open the menu at the top of the conversation and choose Block user.
What blocking does
- They can’t message you, and your conversation with them is removed from your inbox.
- They can’t see your profile or posts, and their profile and posts are hidden from you.
- You stop following each other, and you’re removed from each other’s close friends.
- Their comments on your posts are removed.
- We don’t send them a notification.
Blocking isn’t a report. If they broke our rules, report them too.
Unblock someone
- 01Open Settings.
- 02Under Blocked Users, choose Manage Blocked Users.
- 03Choose Unblock next to their name.
You can also choose Unblock from the three-dot menu on their profile. Unblocking doesn’t bring back follows, close friends or removed comments.
