The short answer
ID verification confirms you’re 18 or older and that you are who you say you are. You scan a government photo ID and take a quick selfie, and you need to do it before you can post.
Why we ask
Before you publish anything on Fanulu, we confirm you’re an adult. It’s part of how we meet US record-keeping law, explained in our 2257 statement. You need to be verified to post, share stories, charge for photos and videos in messages, send mass messages and request payouts.
Get verified
- 01Go to Settings, find Creator Verification and choose Get Verified. You can also start from Create.
- 02Answer whether you’re a US citizen or US resident. If you are, use a US-issued ID: a passport, driver’s license, state ID or Green Card.
- 03Choose Start verification.
- 04Scan your ID, then take a selfie. It takes about a minute.
- 05Keep the page open. It updates on its own when you’re approved.
Your privacy
- The check is run by our identity-verification partner, Didit.
- Your real name and ID are never shown on your profile.
- We keep our own encrypted record of your verification.
When your ID expires
We remind you in the app and by email 30 days and 7 days before the ID you verified with expires. Verify again with a current ID from Settings › Creator Verification.
If your ID expires before you verify again, you can’t post, sell content or request payouts until you do. Your published posts, subscribers and earnings aren’t affected.
