Videos won’t play

Updated

The short answer

Most playback problems clear up when you choose Try again, reload the page or check your connection. A lock on a video means it’s for subscribers or needs to be unlocked, which isn’t an error.

Quick fixes

  1. 01If you see “This video couldn’t be played right now,” choose Try again.
  2. 02Reload the page. If you added Fanulu to your home screen, close it fully and open it again.
  3. 03Check your connection, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  4. 04Turn off your VPN. It can make you appear to be somewhere else, which changes what you can see.
  5. 05Update your browser to its latest version, then clear its cache for Fanulu.

Buffering or blurry?

Tap the three dots (…) on the video, choose Quality and pick a lower setting, such as 540P. Auto adjusts to your connection. In Safari, the browser chooses the quality itself, so this setting has no effect there.

When it isn’t an error

  • A lock with a price, a tier name or “Subscribers only” means the video needs a purchase or a subscription.
  • If you’re signed out, videos don’t play until you confirm you’re 18 or older.
  • In some places the law requires an age check first. If you’re asked to verify your age, finish the check and we’ll take you back to the post.
  • If you see “Fanulu isn’t available where you are,” the law where you are requires an age check we don’t offer yet, so access from your location is paused.
