The short answer
Anyone with a Fanulu account can start a conversation with you unless one of you has blocked the other. To control your inbox, block people, mute or archive conversations, and turn off mass messages.
Stop someone messaging you
Block them. In Messages, press and hold the conversation (or right-click it on a computer) and choose Block user. You can also block someone from their profile. See How do I block someone?
To unblock someone, go to Settings › Blocked Users and choose Manage Blocked Users.
Manage a conversation
Press and hold a conversation in Messages (or right-click it on a computer) to choose:
- Mute notifications, to keep the conversation but stop its alerts.
- Archive, to move it out of your inbox. Find it again with the archive button at the top of Messages.
- Pin conversation, to keep it at the top.
To have messages disappear, open the conversation’s menu and choose Disappearing messages: 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. The setting applies to everyone in the conversation.
Turn off mass messages

- 02Under Privacy Settings, turn off Mass Messages.
- 03Choose Save Changes.
You’ll stop getting broadcast messages from creators you subscribe to. Your one-to-one conversations aren’t affected.
