The short answer
A message usually fails because of your connection, a block between you and the other person, or sending a lot of messages quickly. Choose Tap to retry under the message to send it again.
Try these first
- Check your connection, then choose Tap to retry under the message.
- Slow down. If you send many messages in a short time, sending pauses for a while. Wait a bit and try again.
- If either of you has blocked the other, messages can’t be sent. See How do I block someone?
Photos and videos
- Photos: JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 10MB each.
- Videos: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 100MB and 60 seconds long.
- You can send up to 10 photos or videos at once. If some didn’t upload, retry or remove them before you send.
- Photos and videos are checked before they’re delivered. Until then you’ll see Processing… under the message.
If a message says Failed to send and you were told it doesn’t follow our guidelines, it wasn’t delivered. Read our Community guidelines.
Charging for a message
To charge for a photo or video in a message, complete ID verification first. Until you do, you’ll see “Verify your ID to sell locked media.”
