The short answer
Most failed uploads come from a file that’s too large, too long or in a format we don’t accept. Check the limits below, then retry the upload.
Check the file
- Videos: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 1GB and 10 minutes. If your video is longer, trim it in the editor before you post.
- Photos: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10MB each and between 100 and 8,192 pixels on each side. Save HEIC photos as JPG or PNG first.
- One video per post, or up to 20 photos. Videos and photos can’t be mixed in one post.
Try the upload again
- If a video upload stops, tap Retry next to the upload progress.
- If some photos fail, tap the “failed — tap to retry” note to upload them again.
- Keep the page open until the upload finishes. Closing it or losing your connection stops the upload.
- If you see a message that you’ve reached your upload limit, you’ve made the most new posts allowed for now. Try again the next day.
Posted, but not showing?
Check the post in Studio › Content. A new video shows Processing while we prepare it, then In review while it’s checked. Posts with tagged people show Pending verification until everyone confirms.
If a video shows Failed, open its menu and choose Sync status. If it still says Failed, delete it and upload the video again. For more on review, see Why is my post in review?
